Ed Sheeran live special coming to NBC

Take heart, Ed Sheeran fans who couldn't attend his three sold-out Wembley Stadium shows earlier this month.

On Friday, NBC announced the premiere of Ed Sheeran — Live at Wembley Stadium, a one-hour special documenting Sheeran's record-breaking three nights at the historic stadium, on Sunday, August 16.

The special will feature documentary footage of the concerts, including Sheeran's duet with Sir Elton John, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at how Sheeran prepared for the three historic shows.

"I can't say that performing at Wembley Stadium was a 'dream come true,' because I honestly thought it was out of reach and didn't think it was possible," said Sheeran in a statement.

"It really doesn't get any bigger than Wembley in my mind and it was an honor to join the select few that have headlined there. It's definitely a personal milestone and I'm so glad to share this special moment with all of my fans."

Ed Sheeran - Live at Wembley Stadium airs on NBC on Sunday, August 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
