Danielle Whipple is accused of beating a child after the child flushed rent money down the toilet.

A Florida mother has been arrested after allegedly beating her child for flushing hundreds of dollars down the toilet, according to local media reports.

According to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper, the woman, 24-year-old Danielle Whipple, was detained after police received an anonymous tip that a child was being beaten at a housing complex in Orange County, a suburban area surrounding Orlando.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Whipple's child, whose gender and age has not been released, with a black eye and a red hand print on the face.

According to an arrest report seen by the Sentinel, Whipple started crying and saying: “I'm going to lose custody of (the child).”

The child had a black eye, bloody nose and a hand print-shaped bruise on the face, reported local TV station WFTV.

After asking what had happened, the child said that $720 in rent money had been flushed away when Whipple refused to watch a movie, according to an arrest report seen by the Sentinel and WFTV.

Whipple was arrested and booked in Orange County Jail on a felony child-abuse charge. She was released on Monday, the paper reported. The child was placed in the care of Whipple's boyfriend.

According to investigators quoted by WFTV, Whipple has been investigated twice before on similar abuse allegations.
