Three-year-old Karas Ogelsby couldn’t wait through a homecoming ceremony to hug her dad who had just returned home from an eight-month-deployment in Kuwait.

Three-year-old Karas Oglesby couldn't wait through a homecoming ceremony on Tuesday to hug her dad who had just returned home after being deployed for eight months.

After spotting Lt. Daniel Oglesby in the front row of a group of soldiers, the little girl broke away from her mother and ran toward her father during a ceremony at Fort Carson in Colorado, The Colorado Springs Gazette reported.

Touching video of the incident shows Karas racing to her father.

Karas makes it to her father and Lt. Oglesby bends down to give her a squeeze.

Then, the determined little girl runs back to her mother and sister.

"That moment was about the family, so I figured I'd greet her, give her a kiss on the head, and then tell her I'd meet up with her momentarily after we were done with the presentation," Oglesby, who served in Kuwait, told TODAY.com.
