An elderly Tuscarawas County woman is said to be in "poor" condition after the car she was riding in crashed in Canton early Wednesday morning.
Canton police say 97-year-old Harry Michelson, of Bolivar, Ohio, was driving his Cadillac STS southbound on I-77 with 94-year-old Mary Gearhart in the passenger seat. Around 2 a.m., Michelson apparently drove over the median and off the road to the left, causing the car to go airborne before landing on Kimball Road SE.
Both victims were taken to Aultman Hospital. While Gearhart's condition is reportedly poor, Michelson is said to be stable at this time.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Canton Police Traffic Bureau.
