First impressions of the newest Cleveland Browns: The Donovan Live Postgame Show

Jim Donovan and Dave DeNatale react to what they heard from the newest members of the Browns, plus they pick their NCAA Tournament champions on the Donovan Live Postgame Show.

It was all smiles in Berea on Thursday as new members of the Cleveland Browns were introduced in a series of press conferences.

And as the "Voice of the Browns," Jim Donovan put it, "People are really happy with what's going on with this team. I mean, you're coming off of an 0-16, historically bad season, yet people are really optimistic."

It's hard to be anything but positive when you hear things like this:

From new quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who isn't just coming to the Browns to be 'the bridge quarterback,' a placeholder until a rookie is ready.

The Browns want to win, and win now. That's refreshing, given the years of processes that we've all had to endure. It's nice that the team (and the fans) is in a good frame of mind.

Jimmy and I talked about what he heard and saw from the players, as well as GM John Dorsey, and Head Coach Hue Jackson.

One nugget that made me smile:

When I hear this, I can't help but smile. First, because Jimmy has told us that Thomas truly believes that Coleman can be a left tackle. Secondly, because Thomas is proving again what a great teammate he was and continues to be, even in retirement. Third, because Coleman clearly has the desire to improve and be an integral part of this team. He doesn't have to be in Berea in March, he wants to be there.

Also on the show, Jimmy and I talked about the start of the NCAA Tournament. We each made our picks to win it all (and so far, both of our teams are still in.).

We also chatted a little bit about the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday. Remember, Jimmy Donovan is as Irish as they come. He loves the movie The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.
