It's been years since LeBron James last performed his signature chalk toss. But the pre-game ritual will forever be a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar's legacy.

Case in point: In the new trailer for Deadpool 2, which was released on Thursday, Ryan Reynold's superhero character can be spotted performing a similar act. Fans on Twitter were quick to link the chalk toss to James, who hasn't performed the chalk toss since 2014.

Reynolds' chalk toss comes at the red band trailer's 1:53 mark. Warning: trailer is very *NSFW* and contains graphic language and violence.

Originally released in 2016, Deadpool was both a critical and box office success, netting a reported $322 million profit. The film, based on the Marvel comic book, features Reynolds as Wade Wilson, a discharged special forces operative who becomes a foul-mouthed, sarcastic superhero thanks to a mutation stemming from an experimental cure for his terminal cancer.

According to IMDB.com, the synopsis for Deadpool 2 is as follows:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.

Deadpool 2 is scheduled to hit theaters May 18, 2018.
