AKRON -- A former Buchtel High School teacher pleaded guilty to having sex with a teenage student Friday.
Laura Cross, 37, of Tallmadge, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony.
Cross had a three-year relationship with the 16-year-old student, who also lived with her. Prosecutors say Cross was the student's legal guardian and the two have a child together.
Cross is scheduled for sentencing May 24.
