CLEVELAND -- Nearly a month after first acquiring him in a trade, the Cleveland Browns have agreed to a long-term extension with Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry.
According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $75.5 million over the course of five seasons, with $47 million of it guaranteed.
"I want to thank the Cleveland Browns organization, Coach Hue, John Dorsey, Dee and Jimmy Haslam for making me family and Cleveland, Ohio home. I’m excited for the journey with my new teammates and building, one day at a time, starting with the offseason program on Monday. Let’s be great Cleveland," Landry said in a statement released by the team.

Cleveland acquired Landry at the start of the NFL's new league year last month in a trade with the Miami Dolphins. In exchange for the fourth-year pro, the Browns traded Miami a 2018 fourth-round selection and 2019 seventh-round pick.
A Pro Bowl selection in each of the last three seasons, Landry caught 112 passes for 987 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2017. In his four seasons in the NFL, the LSU product has never caught fewer than 84 passes in a season.
At just more than $15 million per year, Landry would be one of the five highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. He arrived in Cleveland on a franchise tag, which was slated to pay him $15,982,000 in 2018.
"Jarvis Landry is the type of football player we want on this team for a long time," GM John Dorsey said in the statement. Obviously, he’s an accomplished playmaker, that’s why we went after him in the trade but in his short time as a Brown we can already see the type of leadership and competitiveness he’s going to bring to his teammates. We are very pleased that we’ve been able to secure him to a long-term contract.”
