Weather updates: Heavy storms cause flooding, trigger tornado warnings

It was a wild weather ride Sunday with heavy rain and tornado warnings impacting the region.

Thousands of people heard tornado sirens Sunday evening as a storm with heavy rain moved through Northeast Ohio.

Students at Kent State huddled as sirens went off. Their reactions were captured on social media with Snapchat's map feature.

The warning was in place for Portage, Stark and Summit counties until 7:15 p.m.

In addition to tornado warnings, wind was also a factor.

WKYC's chief meteorologist Betsy Kling says the star of the show was and will continue to be flooding.

Flood warning for counties in Northeast Ohio are being issued.

Jennings Road and Valley Road has also been closed until further notice. A car was found submerged in the area.

A landslide was also reported on Interstate 77 North near Pershing Ave.
