Ohio Amber Alert canceled after children found safe, suspect captured

The abduction occurred following a domestic dispute

ATHENS, Ohio -- Three children who were abducted from their home by their father are safe after authorities found them in Shaker Square late Wednesday night.

According to Pete Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, 34-year-old Neil Perin is in custody. He allegedly abducted his children following a domestic dispute at their home on East State Street in Athens on Wednesday morning.

The children are ages 4, 2, and a baby, are safe and unharmed, according to Elliott.

Perin and the children were found in a Shaker Heights apartment in the 2600 block of N. Moreland Blvd.

A statewide Amber Alert was sent out at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday as authorities cautioned about approaching Perin due to his history of violence.
