CLEVELAND -- It's not often a Pittsburgh Steeler hears cheers in Cleveland.

But for Ryan Shazier, the fans at Quicken Loans Arena were willing to make an exception.

During a timeout in the second quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers' Game 3 matchup with the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night, the speaker system at The Q blared Ohio State's official rock song, 'Hang on Sloopy.' After highlights of Buckeye beatdowns of rival Michigan played on the humungotron, the Cavs' giant video scoreboard showed Shazier, who received a loud ovation while being displayed sitting courtside.

In December, Shazier was part of a scary collision during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which required spinal stabilization surgery and left him in a wheelchair. Although he has already been ruled out for the 2018 season, the Ohio State product has previously stated that he plans on one day resuming his football career.

In the first half, Shazier witnessed an impressive performance from the Cavs, who jumped out to a 61-41 lead before heading into the locker room for halftime. After winning the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals in Boston, the Celtics currently lay claim to a 2-0 series lead.
