Report: Dez Bryant will visit Cleveland Browns on Thursday

According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant will visit the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.

CLEVELAND -- One week after saying he'll visit the Cleveland Browns, Dez Bryant is living up to his word.

According to ESPN's Diana Russini, the 3-time Pro Bowl wide receiver will head to Berea for a visit with the Browns.

Bryant's visit to Northeast Ohio will come one day before the Browns host the Buffalo Bills in their second preseason game. Cleveland won its preseason opener over the New York Giants 20-10.

Just prior to the Browns' kickoff in the Meadowlands, Bryant took to Twitter to state he'd begin taking free-agent visits the following week -- including a trip to Cleveland. With Josh Gordon's future uncertain, the Browns are in need of additional help at the wideout position entering the 2018 season.

Bryant, who spent the first eight years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, would seemingly be capable of providing just that. The 6-foot-2 receiver compiled at least 88 receptions and 1,200 yards in each season from 2012-14, earning Pro Bowl honors each year.

Although his production dipped the following two seasons, he bounced back to catch 69 balls for 838 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2017. Earlier this year, he reportedly turned down a multi-year offer from the Baltimore Ravens, instead looking for a one-year "prove it" contract.

Whether the Browns would be willing to offer such deal remains unclear, although at this point, it's clear he's wanted in Cleveland.

“We’re just trying to figure out if he wants to be here,” Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry said. “Then, obviously, we’re open arms and we’d love to have him. He’d be a great addition to our team and our offense for sure, but right now, all we can focus on is who we have.”

It now appears the Browns will have that answer sooner rather than later.
