Cavaliers remind fans preseason finale won't be in Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers will wrap up their 2018-19 preseason on Friday when they face the Detroit Pistons at Michigan State.

Technically, the Cleveland Cavaliers' preseason finale will be a home game. It just won't be in Cleveland.

On Friday, the Cavs will wrap up their 2018 preseason when they face the Detroit Pistons. But rather than do so at Quicken Loans Arenas, the Cavs and Pistons will face off at the Breslin Center on Michigan State's campus in East Lansing, Mich. with less than a week to go until the start of the 2018-19 regular season for both teams.

The connection between the Cavs and Michigan State is obvious: Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is an MSU alum, who in 2016 donated $15 million to aid renovations for the school's basketball arena.

On Thursday, the Cavs issued a press release reminding fans that the preseason finale on Friday night will not be in Cleveland. The Cavs will kickoff their 2018-19 regular season next Wednesday on the road against the Toronto Raptors, with their home opener taking place on Oct. 21 against the Atlanta Hawks.
