How deep did the Browns dysfunction go in Hue Jackson's final days? -- Bud Shaw's You Said It

Cleveland sports fans wonder about the final days of Hue Jackson, the Indians possibly trading Corey Kluber and what lessons the Cavaliers are learning.

CLEVELAND — "You Said It" is a reader participation column based on the premise that if you don't laugh about Cleveland sports you'll cry.

And that if you do laugh about Cleveland sports, you might still end up crying. But at least friends and family will like being around you more.

YOU SAID IT

Bud: A Sports Illustrated story said a paranoid Hue Jackson would retreat to his office and close the door to watch Todd Haley's press conferences. What was Gregg Williams doing during this time? -- Tim.

If he hadn't had lunch yet, he'd usually be eating his daily portion of roofing nails. If he had already eaten, he'd often be behind closed doors watching film. I'm told Chuck Norris "Lone Wolf McQuade" was his favorite.

Have your fun. People have been jealous of Hue's clairvoyance ever since he recommended the Beatles go with the mop top.

Bud: How many more lessons before the Cavs are onto their second interim coach? — Radu Marinescu, Glendale, AZ.

Ty Lue tried to tell us, “It’s not about wins and losses; it’s about wins and lessons.” So far, nine lessons learned on the court and one to come off it — that even with a reworked contract, Larry Drew still has all the clout of a substitute teacher.

Bud: From a ‘biological clock’ point of view, did the early game time Sunday affect the Browns? — Jim Corrigan, Fairview Park.

Come to think of it the Browns defense did keep arriving an hour late to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt.

Bud: Why is it I’ve never, ever seen you and (Indiana politician) Mike Braun in the same room at the same time? — M.G. Skid, Warrensville Hts.

One of us has reason to be insulted by this comparison. The other has already shown a lack of integrity by authoring You Said It.

Bud: Who will achieve the next regular-season victory -- the Cavs, Browns or Indians? — Gary Shine, Chardon.

I don't want to throw you off the scent but you're asking a guy who once wrote that Wayne Kirby should start ahead of Manny Ramirez.

Bud: Please don't tell me the Indians are serious about trading Corey Kluber and/or Carlos Carrasco to the Yankees. I'd want those two as far away from the American League as possible. Like maybe the Tokyo Yakult Swallows -- Bill.

That kind of trade with the Yankees could bring multiple starters back. Not to mention it would increase Progressive Field beer sales by tenfold when despondent Indians fans see Kluber and Carrasco in pinstripes for next summer's All Star game.

You Said It "winners" have been producing evergreen content since 1999.
