CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Browns rookie running back Nick Chubb won the fan vote and became a two-time winner of the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award for his efforts in Week 10 of the 2018 regular season.

More comfortable with his expanded role, Chubb has become a more productive back for the Browns, and certainly, he showed that in a 28-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland last Sunday.

Chubb broke free for a 92-yard touchdown, the longest rushing score in franchise history, and registered 176 yards on 20 carries, an average of 8.8 yards per attempt. Additionally, Chubb caught three passes for 33 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown reception.

On second-and-10 from the Cleveland eight-yard line with 8:45 remaining in the third quarter, Chubb took a handoff from quarterback Baker Mayfield, rushed behind the blocks of guard Kevin Zeitler and tackle Chris Hubbard on the right side of the offensive line and quickly got into the second level of Atlanta’s defense.

Chubb high-stepped out of a tackle at the Cleveland 22-yard line and sprinted his way toward the 45, where rookie wide receiver Antonio Callaway was frantically waving for him to go left so he could finish off a block against a Falcons defensive back.

Chubb sprinted untouched the final 50 yards into the end zone for the touchdown before dropping the ball to celebrate with his teammates, and the Browns did something Atlanta could not do on the play, as they tackled him during the congratulatory moment.

Not bad for a player that got minimal work through the first quarter of the season.

Since Carlos Hyde’s trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars went through 48 hours ahead of a road loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chubb has become the Browns’ feature running back, rushing for 406 yards and three touchdowns on 78 carries, an average of 5.21 yards per attempt.

Previously, Chubb won the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award after rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries in a 45-42 overtime loss at the Oakland Raiders on September 30.

Chubb’s second honor is the seventh for the Browns through the first 10 weeks of the 2018 season.

Previously, Mayfield won the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award three times, first in Week 3 after coming off the bench to lead the Browns to a win over the New York Jets, and then, again in Weeks 7 and 9. Also, defensive back Denzel Ward won the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award in Weeks 1 and 5.

In addition to his second Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award, Chubb won FedEx Ground Player of the Week honors for his efforts against the Falcons.

Overall, Chubb has rushed for 579 yards and five touchdowns on just 94 carries in the first 10 games of his career. Additionally, Chubb, a second-round pick of the Browns in the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia, has converted six receptions into 48 yards and one touchdown.
