After tying the knot over the weekend, Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily Wilkinson, are enjoying a much-deserved honeymoon.
But that didn't stop the Browns quarterback from sending a warm welcome to those attending the 2019 MLB All-Star Game in Cleveland, which he has called home since being selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
"What's up everybody? Welcome to The Land. I wish I could be there with you guys, but I had a commitment," Mayfield said while pointing to his new wedding band in a video posted to the Indians' Twitter account. "Enjoy the game and remember: Go Cleveland."
Since first arriving in Cleveland more than a year ago, Mayfield has become one of the city's best ambassadors. Shortly after the Browns made him the top pick in last year's draft, he attended a Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game and has since attended multiple Indians games at Progressive Field as well.
It also hasn't hurt matters that Mayfield emerged as one of the top young players in football last season, completing 63.8 percent of his passes for 3,725 yards while throwing for an NFL rookie record 27 touchdown passes. The 24-year-old's rise is one of the biggest reasons why the Browns enter the 2019 season favored to win the AFC North, which would mark Cleveland's first division title since 1989.
While Mayfield is currently enjoying his own time off, it won't be long until he's back in The Land. The Browns are scheduled to begin their annual preseason Training Camp on July 25.
