A suspect accused of aggravated burglary, assault, and kidnapping in Rocky River has been captured and is in police custody.
Police say John A. Boyd, 38, broke into a home on Rocky River Oval and assaulted a woman that he had a prior relationship with on Thursday evening. He was armed with a handgun.
After a struggle, the victim was able to flee and run to a neighbor's house for help.
Boyd then left the scene in the victim's 2017 Honda and crashed on I-90 eastbound between Warren Road and W. 117th Street in Cleveland. He fled the scene on foot, but was later captured. Police recovered the gun in the car.
The victim was taken to an area hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
