Huron County 7th grader donates fair winnings to St. Jude Children's Hospital

The boy donated $15,000 in livestock winnings.

A 7th grader in northern Ohio is receiving praise for an act of charity.

"I wanted to donate all my money to Saint Jude's cause I watched a kid from Medina County Fair do it and I wanted to do it," explains 12-year-old Diesel Pippert.

"Me and my dad thought were were going to get $1,000 but me and my dad were kind of surprised to get that much money."

According to a Facebook post by Western Reserve Schools, Pippert donated all of his livestock premiums at the Huron County Fair to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

That amount ended up being $15,000.

“His donation of $15,000 will help to find cures for young children and save lives,” the school district said Saturday.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital works to advance cures and ways to prevent pediatric diseases, including cancer.

The weekend of August 23rd and August 24th Pippert will be manning the Roll It Forward Rummage Sale on Route 250 in Avery which is north of Milan, to raise money for his trip to the hospital in Tennessee next month.  He plans to purchase items to give to the patients so they have something to do while they're in the hospital.
