CLEVELAND — 10:47 p.m./ET-Browns fall to Buccaneers in third preseason game

The Cleveland Browns could not find their way into the end zone in the third preseason game, and that left open an opportunity for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to earn the come-from-behind victory in front of the home fans at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida Friday night.

Tampa Bay rookie kicker Matt Gay completed the 13-12 comeback win with a 21-yard field goal with just 18 seconds remaining in regulation.

The Buccaneers (2-1) defeated the Browns (2-1) thanks in large part to a 10-point third quarter showing.

10:24 p.m./ET-Seibert puts Browns back in front

Rookie Austin Seibert continues to make his case for the Cleveland Browns’ kicking job.

After struggling through the first two weeks of the preseason and throughout training camp, Seibert converted his first four field goals, the last of which gave the Browns a 12-10 lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 7:32 to play in the fourth quarter of the third exhibition game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida Friday night.

Seibert converted a 35-yard attempt to put the Browns in front of the Buccaneers.

9:51 p.m./ET-Buccaneers take lead over Browns

Tampa Bay Buccaneers third-string quarterback Ryan Griffin threw a 20-yard touchdown pass, and the ensuing extra point gave them a one-point lead, 10-9, over the Cleveland Browns with 19 seconds to play in the third quarter at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida Friday night.

Griffin engineered a nine-play, 69-yard drive that took more than four minutes off the third-quarter clock.

9:38 p.m./ET-Buccaneers get on the board

There goes the shutout.

After a tough first half against the Cleveland Browns’ starting defense, one in which No. 1 quarterback Jameis Winston took five sacks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a 13-play, 63-yard drive that ended with Cairo Santos’ 23-yard field goal.

Santos’ kick cut the Browns’ lead to one score, 9-3, with 6:42 to play in the third quarter of the third preseason game at Raymond James Stadium Friday night.

9:28 p.m./ET-Greedy Williams leaves with apparent arm injury

Cleveland Browns cornerback Greedy Williams exited the preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early in the third quarter at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida Friday night.

While reaching in to make a tackle on a wide receiver, Williams’ arm buckled at an angle and after he sat on the field for a moment, a trainer assisted him to the sideline. When Williams walked off the field, he did not move his right arm.

The Browns dealt the Nos. 49 and 144 selections to the Indianapolis Colts in order to take former Louisiana State University cornerback Greedy Williams with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Over 24 career games in just two years at LSU, Williams registered 71 total tackles, including 49 solo stops and 22 assists, with 1.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, as well as eight interceptions and 19 passes defended.

Williams burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2017 when he collected six interceptions and 10 passes defended along with 26 solo stops, 12 assists and 38 total tackles.

Those six interceptions ranked first in the Southeastern Conference and fourth in the NCAA.

9:08 p.m./ET-Browns lead Buccaneers at the half

The Cleveland Browns struggled to extend drives with most of the first-team offense playing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but a position of concern throughout training camp and the first two weeks of the preseason came through in the first half.

Thanks to three field goals from rookie kicker Austin Seibert, the Browns held a 9-0 lead over the Buccaneers at halftime of the third preseason game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida Friday night.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield completed just 10 of his 26 attempts for 72 yards and an interception on his final throw of the first half while taking one sack for eight lost yards and being flushed out of the pocket on many of his passes.

8:43 p.m./ET-Austin Seibert makes third straight FG

Cleveland Browns rookie kicker Austin Seibert is making his case for winning the top spot on the depth chart with his performance in the third preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium Friday night.

Seibert extended the Browns’ lead over the Buccaneers to 9-0 with a 30-yard field goal with 6:49 to play in the first half.

Earlier in the game, Seibert drilled field goals of 54 and 36 yards, respectively.

Prior to the game against the Buccaneers, Seibert missed his only other try in the preseason from 50-plus.

8:20 p.m./ET-Austin Seibert converts another FG, extends Browns’ lead

Cleveland Browns kicker Austin Seibert is making up for lost time in the third preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After struggling with consistency throughout training camp and the first two weeks of the preseason, Seibert converted his first two attempts against the Buccaneers and staked the Browns out to a 6-0 lead over the Buccaneers with 13:17 to play in the first half at Raymond James Stadium.

Seibert’s first field goal was good from 36 yards out, and his first was good from 54.

7:53 p.m./ET-Browns take lead on Seibert FG

The Cleveland Browns’ kicking battle has been a big topic of debate and discussion during training camp and the preseason, and after many misses and inconsistent play, rookie kicker Austin Seibert made a statement to cap off the first offensive drive of the game.

After the offense stalled in Tampa Bay Buccaneers territory, the Browns called on Seibert, and he buried a 54-yard attempt to give the Browns a 3-0 lead with 8:49 to play in the first quarter at Raymond James Stadium.

The Browns’ first drive of the game travelled 18 yards in seven plays.

7:30 p.m./ET-Browns set for third preseason game

The Cleveland Browns are inching ever closer to the start of the 2019 regular season, and tonight, they will play “the dress rehearsal” third preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

But how long will the Browns (2-0) play their top players on both sides of the ball against the Buccaneers (1-1).

Will second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield play the typical first half, plus a series in the third quarter? Will either Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry or Odell Beckham Jr. be available for the game after missing the first two preseason outings? Can the Browns settle position battles at kicker, right guard and cornerback?

Those are just some of the questions first-year Browns coach Freddie Kitchens will try to answer tonight as the kickoff game to the 2019 regular season, a home contest against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, September 8, fast approaches.
