CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns will be without starting free safety Damarious Randall on Monday when they battle the Jets in New York.
Randall reported to the team's facility Saturday with concussion-like symptoms. He has been placed in the league's protocol for head injuries. Randall missed practice earlier in the week with what coach Freddie Kitchens said was a stomach virus.
Backup Eric Murray is the likely replacement for Randall.
Randall joins offensive tackle Kendall Lamm (knee), running back Dontrell Hilliard (concussion) and linebacker Adarius Taylor (ankle), on the list of Browns players who will miss the Monday Night battle in New York.
WR Rashard Higgins (ankle), G Joel Bitonio (abdomen), DE Chris Smith (not injury related) and QB Drew Stanton (knee), are considered questionable. Smith missed Thursday and Friday's practice following the tragic death of his girlfriend Petara Cordero in a car accident earlier this week. He returned to practice on Saturday.

The Jets are dealing with their own injury concerns heading into Monday's battle. Quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out of the game after being diagnosed with mono. Also, linebacker C.J. Mosley will not play for New York because of a pulled groin.
Earlier in the week, Randall had made headlines for his response to questions about his former defensive coordinator/interim head coach Gregg Williams, who is now running the Jets defense.
“Next question,” Randall said, when asked about facing Williams. “I am playing against the Jets offense, not the defense.”
