CLEVELAND — A 5-year-old child has been taken to the hospital after being hit by a car Friday afternoon on Cleveland's west side.
According to police, the child was struck on the 3100 block of West 56th Street around 3:50 p.m. The vehicle then fled the area, but the suspect (a 22-year-old man) was later arrested.
The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. They are currently in stable condition, EMS crews confirm.
