CLEVELAND — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has ordered all nonessential businesses to remain closed throughout the state until further notice to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
But it seems some business owners aren’t following that order.
Cuyahoga County Board of Health Commissioner Terry Allan says there have been 312 complaints filed to date within the county regarding nonessential businesses staying open despite the governor’s order.
Allan, who announced that statistic during a press conference Monday morning, said officials are working to address those businesses that aren't in compliance.
If you would like to file a complaint or notify Cuyahoga County officials of a nonessential business that’s not following the order, you’re asked to call 216-201-2000 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Allan then highlighted some of the nonessential businesses that should be closed, including:
- Barbershops, hair and nail salons
- Bars and restaurants (carryout only)
- Car washes
- Driving ranges
- Gym, fitness and dance centers
- Beauty, gaming and sports goods
Allan, however, didn't provide the names of any businesses that aren't adhering to the order.
