Power outage updates: FirstEnergy estimates power could be out for some until late Thursday night

Thousands of people remain without power as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

CLEVELAND — A strong storm that hit Northeast Ohio overnight Tuesday into Wednesday caused thousands of power outages throughout Northeast Ohio.

FirstEnergy's outage map now estimates that some impacted customers may not have their power restored until 11:30 p.m. Thursday. We have all those details listed below.

Remember, these power restoration times are only estimates and your electricity could be back on sooner.

Below is a list of the hardest-hit spots, according to FirstEnergy's outage map:

As of 11:45 a.m. Thursday (hardest-hit counties listed at the top):

  • Summit: 2,767 outages – FirstEnergy estimates power restoration by 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
  • Medina: 909 outages – FirstEnergy estimates power restoration by 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
  • Portage: 924 outages – FirstEnergy estimates power restoration in most areas by 6 p.m. Thursday.
  • Stark: 472 outages – FirstEnergy estimates power restoration for most customers by 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
