Natural Balance Pet Foods issues voluntary recall of certain cat food items

Find out which food items could potentially harm your furry friend

LOS ANGELES — The Orville-based J.M. Smucker Company is recalling certain food items for cats today after discovering that they may lead to severe side-effects. 

The canned items come from the Natural Balance Ultra Premium line brand, and include the formula Chicken & Liver Pate collection. Smucker's warns:

"Ingesting impacted product may cause nausea with excessive salivation, constricted pupils and poor vision, diarrhea or vomiting to more severe symptoms including difficulty walking, muscle shaking, tremors, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, possible cardiac or respiratory failure and, in extreme situations, death."

The company urges all pet owners who may have the canned items to immediately dispose of them, and contact their pet's veterinarian if they seem to have any of the symptoms listed above.
