Watch: Browns RB Nick Chubb scores touchdown on monster run vs. Bengals

Nick Chubb gave the Cleveland Browns a 7-3 lead with an 11-yard touchdown run vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.

CLEVELAND — Earlier this week, Nick Chubb stressed the need for the Cleveland Browns to avoid an 0-2 start to their 2020 season.

Facing the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, the Pro Bowl running back did his part to prevent that from happening.

With the Bengals scoring a field goal on the opening drive of the game, the Browns offense took the field for its first drive trailing Cincinnati 3-0. Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield, however, put together an impressive drive by completing all four of his pass attempts for 55 yards, while Chubb added 27 yards on the ground -- 11 of which came on a rumbling 11-yard touchdown run.

The impressive start for the Cleveland offense was a welcome one for Browns fans following last week's 38-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the season opener. While Mayfield struggled with his accuracy, Chubb was reduced to a non-factor, totaling just 60 yards on 10 carries and one fumble against the Ravens.

“I think it is better for us to kind of get back out there right away, get the bad taste out of our mouth and go out there and get a win," Chubb said earlier this week. "That is going to be big for this team and big for everyone around us. I think our team is in the right mindset. We know what happened last Sunday was not who we are or anything like that, but we just have to keep pushing. We have a great chance to show it in front of the world.”

So far, so good.
