#SarasRide: 3News' Sara Shookman takes practice ride for VeloSano during newscasts

Please donate and help find a cure for cancer.

CLEVELAND — The countdown is on! In just a few weeks, Team WKYC will take on VeloSano 8 and ride for a cure to cancer.

VeloSano is a year-round fundraising initiative, culminating in an annual bike ride challenge, to support lifesaving cancer research at Cleveland Clinic. The name is Latin for “swift cure.” Since the inaugural ride in 2014, more than $24 million has been raised, 100 percent used to fund cancer research in Northeast Ohio.

To date, VeloSano has supported 170 cancer research projects. Those projects often go on to earn research grants from the National Institutes of Health and elsewhere, extending VeloSano’s reach to more than $46 million.
