The Cleveland Browns have designated wide receiver Jarvis Landry to return from injured reserve.

Landry has missed the last three games for the Browns after spraining the MCL in his left knee in the second game of the season against the Houston Texans. Landry caught a screen pass on the game’s first drive and hurt his knee when he was tackled.

Landry has been terrific for the Browns in the limited time that he's been on the field this year. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has targeted him six times, completing all six of them for 80 yards. Landry also did have a pair of rushing attempts in the Week 1 loss against Kansas including a five-yard touchdown run.

Landry’s designation for return doesn’t guarantee that he will be on the field this Sunday when the Browns take on the Cardinals, but it does open the door for that to happen. Since Landry has been designated to return, the Browns have up to three weeks to activate him on the roster.

Since joining the Browns in 2018, Landry has consistently been Mayfield’s favorite target. Landry has amassed 3,070 yards receiving in a Browns uniform and 13 touchdown grabs on 242 receptions.

This stint on injured reserve was the first injury of Landry’s career that forced him to miss any time. Entering this season, he had only missed one game in his career, a Week 16 loss last season against the New York Jets after he landed on the COVID-19 list as a close contact.

The Browns are set to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. at First Energy Stadium.
