CLEVELAND — York Township, here we come!

Yes, the tiny Medina community will be home to this Friday's WKYC High School Football Game of the Week. Of course, the town is also the home of the Buckeye Bucks, who will host the Valley Forge Patriots in the aforementioned matchup.

After a 3-0 start, Buckeye is coming off a 40-28 loss to North Olmsted that saw quarterback Casey Murray get sacked 12 times. The junior dual threat leads an offense that is averaging 41 points per game (including 67 in Week 3 against Copley) and looking to build of last year's 8-4 campaign.

Valley Forge went 6-4 in 2021 and is also 3-1 in 2022, with the lone blemish coming by a single point to North Ridgeville in Week 2. Although the Pats lost star running back Kentrell Marks to Purdue, Shane Warden has more than picked up the slack, averaging 107 yards per contest and scoring three touchdowns.

Buckeye vs. Valley Forge was actually featured as one of our Games of the Week last season. Marks ran for more than 200 yards, but Ben Barnes scored three TDs to gives the Bucks a thrilling 22-18 victory in the final minutes.
