$10,000 reward being offered for arrest of suspects after postal worker robbery in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — The United States Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in a robbery of an Akron postal worker.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, at around 4:30 p.m., a postal worker was approached by two suspects, one who had a gun in the 800 block of Carlysle Street in Akron. 

During the robbery, the suspects allegedly directed the victim back to his mail truck “and took U.S. postal property before fleeing the scene.”

Below are the descriptions of the two suspects allegedly involved: 

  • Suspect 1 (left on picture): Man in late teens to early twenties, six-feet tall, skinny build, wearing a high loose-fitting black fabric gaiter mask, black coat and dark pants. This suspect allegedly brandished a firearm, semiautomatic, gold to rose gold-colored.
  • Suspect 2 (right on picture): Man in late teens to early twenties, six-feet tall, skinny build, wearing a high loose-fitting black fabric gaiter mask, red hoodie with unknown white decal and dark-blue or black sweatpants.

USPIS is asking the public to not apprehend the suspects themselves, as they should be considered armed and dangerous.
