Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett to practice for first time since car crash

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett will practice on Wednesday, although it remains unclear whether or not he will be limited.

CLEVELAND — For the first time since being involved in a serious car crash in Medina County last week, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett will take the practice field on Wednesday.

Exactly how active the two-time All-Pro will be, however, remains unclear.

"He'll be out there," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Wednesday. "We'll see how it goes, but he'll be out there."

Garrett's return to the practice field comes nine days after he and a female passenger were involved in a single-car crash in Medina County in which the 26-year-old's Porsche 911 flipped multiple times after he lost control of the vehicle. Garrett's passenger suffered a minor head injury and the Texas A&M product suffered a shoulder sprain, biceps strain and various bumps and bruises, which resulted in him missing Cleveland's 23-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Garrett, who has been stopped for speeding seven times in Northeast Ohio since being drafted by the Browns in 2017, was cited by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for the crash.

"Definitely grateful to be here with what I saw from right after and the pictures," Garrett said last week. "I think it was a hell of an event. I am just grateful that not only I am alive but I was able to have so much of my family and the support system that was around me keeping me locked in and keeping me focused on just taking it day by day."

While ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Garrett's injuries could affect him for the next 2-4 weeks, his return to practice on Wednesday appears to be an encouraging sign for his availability for Cleveland's upcoming Week 5 matchup with the Los Angeles Charges, who lay claim to the NFL's top-ranked passing attack. Additionally, Stefanski expressed hope that fellow defensive end Jadeveon Clowney could also return to practice this week, after missing each of the Browns' past two games with an ankle injury.
